Just a final shout-out this is the last weekend to work on your project and submit to the Facebook Hackathon: AI.

Final checklist:

  • Are you submitting a machine learning model or application that touches on all of the judging criteria?
  • Does your solution creatively use PyTorch? 
  • Have you created a submission video? Does your video clearly demonstrate how your app works? Is it about 2 minutes long? (See these video-making tips)
  • Have you included at least one screenshot of your project?
  • Have you provided a publicly accessible link to your project for judging and testing?

2020 F8 Developer Cancellation / Facebook Online Hackathon Series First Place Prize Substitution

As you may have seen, Facebook recently announced its cancellation of the 2020 F8 Developer Conference in-person component given growing concerns around the coronavirus or COVID-19. Accordingly, we will not be awarding any 2020 F8 Hackathon invitations or related hotel and flight accommodation as part of First Place prizing for any Contest in the 2020 Facebook Online Hackathon Series. Bonus Tech Tip: PyTorch 1.4 Released

At this point, you may be well on your way with your project for the Facebook Hackathon: AI, however, for those using PyTorch for their solution, we wanted to make sure to let you know about the PyTorch 1.4 release!

The 1.4 release of PyTorch adds new capabilities, including the ability to do fine grain build level customization for PyTorch Mobile, and new experimental features including support for model parallel training and Java language bindings.  In addition, PyTorch domain libraries like torchvision, torchtext, and torchaudio also have new releases along side the PyTorch 1.4 core release.
